Play, perform, belong
Welcome to WSCB website where you can find a brief history of our band and contact details.
We are a concert wind band (brass, woodwind & percussion) formed in 2022 by two ex-military band musicians to provide a much-needed service in our village and surrounding area.
We are by the community and for the community, rehearsing weekly on Mondays 7-9pm and performing music where it is needed or appreciated around Woodhall Spa and beyond.
We play a wide range of music for all occasions.
Please contact us for further information on bookings or joining us as a musician.
We welcome all players regardless of age and band experience.
Our rehearsals take place at Woodhall Spa United Football Club on Abbey Lane, Woodhall Spa, LN10 6UH, Mondays 7-9pm.
We would love you to join us, so please do get in touch!

Introducing our sponsor and key ticket sales partner, Peter Scott Shoes of The Broadway, Woodhall Spa. The business very generously sponsors our concerts, sells tickets on our behalf and provides brilliant raffle prizes, all of which is greatly appreciated. Meet our amazing Musical Director, Tom Law
Tom took over as MD of the band at the beginning of 2025 and his impact has been immense. As WSCB enters its fourth year of existence, Tom is steering the band in a new, exciting direction, bringing great positive energy and really stretching us with fun and challenging music - we are sounding better than ever, attracting great musicians and setting new ambitious targets for the future. We can't wait to see what he gets us to play next!!
Tom's musical story began at a young age as a jazz-trained pianist and contemporary-trained guitarist, influenced as a teenager by The Beatles and Queen. At the age of 15, he discovered the trombone and has not looked back! His spare time was spent playing with brass and wind bands, including concerts with the National Universities Brass Band in 2021. He led the Leeds University Music Society Concert Band as conductor in 2019-2020. As well as his role with WSCB, Tom currently plays Eb bass with Horncastle's Banovallum Brass and Bass Trombone with Kirton Town Band. Nowadays, Tom takes musical inspiration from brass and military bands, particularly composers such as Phillip Harper and Christopher Bond. His favourite pieces are: The Planets Suite by Holst; October by Eric Whitacre for wind band and Concerto de Aranjuez for brass band.
